Mercamadrid Expansion

15 March 2007: The Municipal Employment Agency of Madrid’s City Hall is carrying out a survey to establish the needs of the companies at the Industrial Park for training and specific job positions

Since last November the Employment Agency attached to Madrid’s City Hall is studying the training needs of the workers employed by the wholesalers that operate from the Mercamadrid Food Industrial Park as well as the specific job positions that need to be filled.

A team of specialized technicians is currently carrying out this study to detect which are the specific training needs of the job positions provided by the companies of the food sector that operate from the Mercamadrid complex, to generate the documentary base necessary to develop a Master Training Plan as well as to plan the specific training actions needed to improve the competitiveness of said companies.

The study is structured around a methodology that combines the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the operations of wholesalers that market fruit and produce and those that market fish and meat products.

The intention of the study is to cover future demands regarding training and employment that the companies at the industrial park may generate in the near future.

The results of the study will serve to expand the current knowledge base of the Labour Mediation Office of the City Hall Employment Office –located in Mercamadrid- of the wholesalers that operate from the Industrial Food Park. This knowledge will enable the Office to offer improved orientation and intermediation services, and the companies will benefit from the improved training and professional competences of their employees as a result of the training actions that will be implemented.
